Radiant Hybrid Jacket

There are some pieces of gear that go with you on every single adventure. The Radiant Hybrid Jacket™ is one of those. It's the perfect combo of warm, insulating fleece where you're most exposed to the elements and breathable light fleece where your body needs to let heat escape. Wear it under a shell for extra warmth on stormy high alpine epics or as your outer layer on a cool morning approach, or throw it over a tee on the way to grab your morning coffee; this piece works as well under or over, as an inner or outer layer. Don't worry - we won't blow your cover if you can never find a time when you're not wearing it to give it a wash.

  • Polyester/spandex blend fabric moves with you, making this jacket a great choice for active pursuits
  • Flatlock seams maximize motion and minimize abrasion

  • Zippered Napoleon pocket for stashing small essentials
  • Thumbholes keep sleeves in place

A solid jacket, but maybe not worth the price?

I am 5'3" (163cm) and 116lb (53kg) and I bought the XS in Blackberry. This jacket fits well, snug enough to layer and with sleeves the right length for me to use the thumb loops. It also looks good on and packs well, and the colour is lovely. The weight is light enough to hike with and it provides enough warmth for camping in <10C weather but remains comfortable when hiking and climbing sea cliffs up to about 25C. It didn't start to smell despite hiking in it/sleeping in it/cooking in it/climbing in it, even though everything else I owned did. Unfortunately I have a couple of issues with this jacket: 1. The zip tag is too small to be easily functional. I understand this helps keep the weight down, but a little bit of cord would work better and not add to the weight. 2. The fabric is abrasive on the back of the neck when you have the jacket fully zipped up. I do have eczema so this may not bother others. 3. The breathable fabric on the underside of the sleeve has started to pill after only a month of use. 4. I didn't realise how much I would miss the hand warmer pockets!
