An Excellent Book

Considering the options available for people interested in embracing overnight backpacking trips, this book is a significant upgrade over anything else currently available. Overnight Hikes contains a well-manicured and chosen set of detailed adventures ranging from introductory/easy on trails to completely off-track routes and full-on navigation. Readers' attention should be given to the difficulty ratings in order to avoid a potential epics. Whilst not a perfect (there can always be more clarity in track notes, conditions, access, camping sites, etc, but then there are limitations in book length!), it is an excellent start to cataloguing all the backpacking potential in SEQ.

Hidden gem

This book was an eye opener to me. I am so glad I finally found a book that has all the hidden gems of SEQ capsuled in a book. It’s been difficult continuously googling and looking for different blogs for trail notes. Despite the beauty of the internet, it’s much better to have a hard copy of detailed adventures that I am super keen to try it out. Easy for me to show my friends what I am talking about by just flicking a page. The hikes are well described along with beautiful photography which makes me excited to go venture out. I’ve been looking everywhere for a book with the latest hiking information and this one’s a winner. I feel like the authors have done a wonderful job, dedicating their time and energy to formulate such a wonderful book. Kudos!

Irresponsible

The writers of this book are putting people in danger.
Some of the descriptions are at times poor, vague, incorrect and laughable.
To detail particular walks in remote and rugged terrain without properly describing the walks and publish them in a book is highly irresponsible.
The naive will inevitably come to grief should they take this book as gospel.
