Locking HMS Belaying Carabiner
HMS carabiner with a security element to protect against twisting and movement of the rope or belay device when catching a whipper fall. The safety latch fixes the position of the carabiner in sit harness belay loop. It increases the peace of mind of the user while keeping your eys on the climber. Ideal for indoor and outdoor sport climbing, trad and multipitch climbing.

Best lightweight belay biner I've usedBy: Tanager on 14 April 2019I’ve been in the habit of quickly passing my left hand over the locking carabiner on my belay loop while belaying to check if it’s cross-loaded and adjust if necessary. Since getting this biner, the habit remains but it’s never crossloaded. The safety latch at the bottom (belay loop side) keeps everything neat and orderly and I really like it. Unlike some of the other belay-specific carabiners that I’ve used, the safety latch is intuitive and very quick to load. It slides right in and doesn’t take two hands to remove. The elongated shape is also quite unique. For me, it allows me to have my arms straightened (or nearly) while feeding out slack which helps my poor elbows. It’s worth mentioning that the screw gate spins for a long time before it’s locked. This can be a bit tedious at times, but it spins well and doesn’t take more than a few thumb pushes. On the flip side, it’s easy to see when it’s not locked.
